Welcome to the Gifted Program at A.E. Wright Middle School!
A.E. Wright Middle School is pleased to offer a Gifted Program as an option for students who qualify. Our goal is to identify gifted students and provide high quality differentiated opportunities for learning that meet students' unique social, emotional and academic needs and prepare them to be positive contributing members of society. The GATE Program includes a classroom setting that is enriched and accelerated to enable our gifted students to make continuous progress in school.
Association of GATE Parents
The Association of GATE Parents (AGP) is a community of involved parents who are passionate about gifted education. Our mission is to ensure the continued success of the AEW GATE program through the facilitation of strong partnerships among parents, teachers and administrators and the advocacy of gifted education. To these ends we volunteer time and resources to enhance and support the educational objectives of the GATE program and strive to create a supportive network among our families by providing learning and community-building opportunities outside of school.
The primary activities of the AGP include facilitating email communication between the AEW GATE staff and parents, maintaining the AGP website, providing parent education opportunities, organizing social events that highlight and supplement the curriculum or are focused on service-learning, and providing support for incoming families. We meet periodically to discuss and plan for these activities.
The AGP supports the activities of the AEW Parent Faculty Club and does not seek to direct the administrative activities of the school or control its policies.
